Hear the daf

Tap an occasion to hear the daf on its own.

A lively beat for the dholki evening.

Daf only, made by Heydaf. No vocals, no other instruments.

The occasion

A wedding in our families runs over several evenings. The dholki and the mehndi are the home evenings of songs and henna. The nikah is the ceremony. The walima is the reception the groom's family hosts. Families differ, so you tell us which evenings and which sides.

Who orders it

Usually the sister, cousin or aunt organizing the dholki, or the mother of the bride or the groom.

What goes into the songs

The couple's names, sung the way you say them. The two families. The stories you choose for each evening. A playful mood for the dholki, a graceful one for the walima, or whatever you ask for.

Timing

Make the four songs any time; a week before gives you time to share them. Each lyric is ready to approve in a minute or two, and each song usually arrives within a few minutes of your approval.

What you get

Four songs, each with MP3 and WAV, the lyric sheet in Urdu and Roman Urdu with the English meaning of every line, a 15 second clip, the ingredients label and the license. If a name sounds wrong, tap it and we sing it again, free, up to three times. If it still fails, the credit comes back to you.

Questions

Can we make one wedding song instead of four?

Yes. The Event song is one song with the full style menu; the Wedding Kit is four from one brief.

Can the songs have other drums with the daf?

Yes. Choose a daf-led style. That song's label will say "contains other drums".

Will every name be sung right?

You pick how each name sounds before you approve the lyric, and our checks listen to every name before you hear the song. If a name sounds wrong, tap it and we sing it again, free, up to three times. If it still fails, the credit comes back to you.

Can the songs be in English?

Urdu, English, Punjabi and Arabic. Join the beta and tell us which you want first.
